As stated earlier, CISON would offer two levels of accreditation or professional membership, namely, the Associate Statistician (A.Stat.) and Charted Statistician (C.Stat.), which would be open to only full members of the Institute. As stated below, the nomenclature of accredited statisticians of CISON was chosen based on what is contained in the CISON Act.
| S/N | Level of Accreditation | Professional Nomenclature | Minimum Years |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. | Entry Level Accreditation | Associate Statistician (A.Stat.) | +2yrs |
| 2. | Full Accreditation | Chartered Statistician (C.Stat.) | +5yrs |
Accreditation would be carried out by the Accreditation Committee constituted by the Governing Council of CISON, and whose members are themselves Chartered Statisticians or their equivalents. The (A.Stat.) would be an entry level of accreditation, preparatory for full (C.Stat.) accreditation.
