Membership Programme

This membership is open to all. Everyone, with interest in statistics and the Institute.
Associate Statistician

Accreditation Programmes
Professional Accreditation
We offer two levels of accreditation, the Associate Statistician (A.Stat.) and Charted Statistician (C.Stat.),
Professional Examination
CISON will offer: Ordinary Certificate, Higher Certificate and Graduate Certificate in Statistics.
Accreditation of Institutions
CISON in consultation with the NBTE and NUC would work for the accreditation of courses at tertiary institutions.
Professional Examinations
Foundation Level
The Ordinary Certificate in Statistics would be offered in a modular form consisting of two modules which may be taken singly or together.
Intermediate Level
The Higher Certificate in Statistics would contain work equivalent to that offered into the first year of a typical university course in statistics.
Graduate Level
The Graduate Certificate in Statistics would be equivalent to a good university degree in statistics and is expected to be accepted by universities in Nigeria
Professional Development
Revalidation
CISON would conduct the revalidation of the Chartered Statistician award on a five-yearly basis.
Mentoring Associates
CISON has instituted a mentoring scheme which would be like a service to its Associate Statisticians.
CPD
CISON require its members, to follow a process of continuous professional review through the CPD.
