Shehu Usman Gulumbe (Ph.D.) is a Professor of Statistics affiliated with Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto in the Department of Statistics. He holds BSc (Maths , UniSok), MSc (Stats, Unilorin) and PhD (Stats, Strathclyde , UK). His main interests are in the areas of Statistical Computing, Statistical Pattern Recognition and Multivariate Data Analysis. He has been in the University system since 1984 and has held various positions including, but not limited to, Examination Officer, Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, Director, etc.

Prof. Gulumbe has been a long standing member of the NSA (now CISON). He held several
positions including Ordinary Council Member, Vice-President II and Vice-President I. He is
currently the Vice- President of the Chartered Institute of Statisticians of Nigeria (CISON).
