A Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee of CISON has been established. This is to enable the development of the profession and the maintenance of modern standards as all practising statisticians and other members would be required to view the CPD as a vital part of their personal review process. This process also enhances the credibility of the profession. The CISON would, therefore, require its professionally qualified members, to follow a process of continuous professional review through the CPD.
Such re-accreditations will normally be at five-yearly intervals based on the minimum criteria prescribed by CISON. Consequently, holders of Chartered Statistician (C.Stat.) status may, if they wish, apply periodically for a Maintained Professional Certificate (MPC) as recognition of having engaged in appropriate CPD.
