The accreditation programmes and professional examinations of the CISON would be
fashioned in the best traditions of those of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the
Hong Kong Statistical Society (HKSS), the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) of London, the
Statistical Society of Australia Incorporated (SSAI) and the Statistical Society of Canada
(SSC). To that effect, CISON will offer a suite of professional examinations in statistics,
which will involve three sequential levels of examinations as practiced by the RSS and
HKSS. Those seeking professional aaccreditation will submit materials to be reviewed by members of the Accreditation Committee of CISON. The Committee would be made up of
peers who will evaluate submissions based on the Guidelines for Accreditation set up by
CISON. Those who meet the guidelines would be awarded the appropriate designation as an
"accredited professional statistician", which would be in two categories of “Associate
Statistician (A.Stat.)” and “Chartered Statistician (C.Stat.).” Please, note that the
qualifications of A.Stat. and C.Stat. may not be held simultaneously.
